The Real Deal:

Pilates Westwood is so much more than your average pilates studio.  A warm, cozy interior, friendly instructors, and a low-key vibe are just a few things that make this studio so refreshing and unique!  Not only does the studio offer traditional Reformer sessions, but also Mat classes, Functional Core work, Gyrotonic training, and Rehabilitation services.  If you are a pilates vet, you’ll enjoy having access to the studio’s variety of apparatuses, and can can mix up your workout with private and semi-private Reformer sessions, along with Mat classes that are currently offered on Monday and Wednesday evenings.  If you are new to the traditional pilates method, we cannot recommend a better place to start your training as all of the certified instructors are extremely skilled and have been teaching pilates for more than 5 years.  The studio maintains a roster of about 15-20 instructors, and all are self-employed and can therefore set their own hours.  This is a huge plus for clients because you can find the perfect instructor to meet with at a time most convenient to your own schedule.  The atmosphere at Pilates Westwood is very welcoming, and so is its owner, Julie.  Be sure to call her at the studio to schedule an introductory private session at a discounted rate and she’ll pair you with the best instructor to help you achieve your fitness goals!

  • Bring a towel and water
  • Don’t forget to call the studio at 310-914-1796 to schedule your first private session at 1/2 the regular price
Kacie and Julie

Kacie and Julie say:

It had been a long time since we had taken a traditional pilates reformer class, and we had forgotten what an amazing workout it was!  We were lucky enough to work with instructor Asayo Yi, and we couldn’t have found a better fit for our personalities.  Asayo was sweet and patient, but also worked us hard!  She was always looking out to make sure we maintained proper form during our various abdominal exercises, and really challenged us with unique upper and lower body techniques on the machine.  The best though, was how we felt afterwards…like jello.  We have never felt so stretched out and could actually feel our muscles lengthening and notice a new tightness in our cores.  Pilates is not a cheap workout, but the personal attention you receive at Pilates Westwood and the long, lean look you achieve after just a few sessions is totally worth it.  We can’t wait to take more classes with Asayo and are looking forward to testing out the Gyrotonic session with Julie, the studio’s owner.  Check back soon for another review!
